Defiance Cup Hurling – Aug. 19th

It’s your last chance to catch the Tacoma Rangers this season before we make our way to the USGAA Finals in San Francisco!

The Tacoma Rangers will be hosting the Seattle Gaels, Columbia Red Branch, and Willamette Hurling Club at Ft. Steilacoom Park in Lakewood this Saturday, Aug. 19th, for the last tournament of the NW Division’s 2017  season.

Following the tournament, the trophy will be presented at the afterparty, held by sponsors Pacific Brewing & Malting in downtown Tacoma.

July Pub League

It’s that time again for the Tacoma Rangers’ Monthly Pub League competition! Matches will once again be played at Jane Clark Park in North Tacoma, beginning at 11am.

July’s match-ups will pit the Tacoma Rangers in a Gaelic Football rematch against a traveling Olympia side. Gaelic Football will be followed by the return of a classic Pac Brewing Black Sheep v. Doyle’s Evergreens Hurling match.

June Pub League

The Tacoma Rangers will hold their fiercely-contested, monthly Pub League matches on June 17th, at Jane Clark Park beginning at 11am. Once again, the Pac Brewing Black Sheep will take on the Doyle’s Evergreens.

This weekend will also look to feature an appearance from a developing club starting up in Olympia, who will bring a side to kick off the day with a Gaelic Football match. Following this battle from different sides of the Nisqually, the Rangers will compete against each other in a Hurling match, set for roughly 12pm.

Come on over the Jane Clark Park to see Tacoma’s finest GAA club in action!

Corvallis Bound

The Tacoma Rangers will be traveling down to Corvallis, OR in defense of the Willamette Cup! Last May, the Rangers returned home with their first cup, which was proudly on display the past year at sponsors Pacific Brewing & Malting. A contingent of around 20 Rangers will be making their way south between tonight and early tomorrow morning.

It’s a bit of a haul from Tacoma, but for anyone interested in attending the competition, the Willamette Cup Tournament will be held at the Crystal Lake Sports Center in Corvallis, OR. The first match at 10am and the Rangers will first play at 11am.

UP THE RANGERS!

St. Paddy’s Weekend Recap

St. Paddy’s weekend flew by this year – faster for those who remember less of it! – especially for the Tacoma Rangers who took part in one event per day. Check out the gallery below for some photos from the weekend!

The weekend started off with the Tacoma Rangers Pub Crawl, which took us from 7 Seas Brewing Co. to our sponsors Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. by way of a few extra stops and the light rail. (Copious) Pints were had and songs were sung as we brought some real St. Paddy’s atmosphere wherever we went. The Rangers closed down Pac for the night at midnight to call time on the agenda’s first event.

Day 2 kicked off on Saturday evening, giving the Rangers some much-needed rest and recovery before heading to Pierce College to cheer on Femme Fianna as they were crowned back-to-back champions of the Dockyard Derby Dames. Fianna threw down some seriously heavy hits, skate-stopping blocks, and impressively agile jamming in an action-packed bout that saw them clear 300 points on the night. We can’t wait to see what Fianna has in store for 2018!

Day 3 started at 11am with the final Pub League matchup before the NW Division’s 2017 GAA season begins on April 1st, pitting Pacific Brewing & Malting Co.’s Black Sheep against Doyle’s Public House’s Evergreens. The matches – featuring 3 first-timers recruited during the Pub Crawl – were hard fought and split between the Black Sheep pulling in the Gaelic football W (17-9) and the Evergreens taking Hurling’s (20-19).

Stay tuned for more Tacoma Rangers news and mark off your calendar’s for St. Paddy’s 2018!

Rangers Anniversary Dinner (2-11-17)

The Tacoma Rangers held their 5th Anniversary Dinner at sponsors Pacific Brewing & Malting Co last month on February 11th. Emmett McElhinney (That Irish Guy) led music for the night and sister club Femme Fianna stopped in to say hi. Pints were downed, glasses raised, songs sung, and tables stood upon. The evidence shows it was a standard Rangers affair – and we even tried to get a little arty with some photos!

Come join us at Pac or our next social event to join in on the fun with the Tacoma Rangers!
